 Concentrato di Pomodoro – Tomato concentrate/paste/puree

Provides extra tomato flavour. Avaiable in small cans, tubes or jars. Check the ingredients to make sure there is no added sugar

Polpa di pomodoro – Chopped tomatoes

Available in cans or jars. If you can’t find ripe, fresh tomatoes for a sauce, these are an excellent substitution.

Pomodori pelati – Peeled tomatoes

Usually need to be chopped before use. Another good substitution for fresh tomatoes.

 Passata di pomodoro -Sieved tomatoes

A kind of thick tomato juice, perfect for use in sauces. Available in jars or cartons.
